Continuing with more crafting projects from 2017 - a large plush pony, pillowcases, and some customized Barbie dolls.
- Fashionistas Curvy Barbie customization – doll, fashion. This 2016 doll has the 2014 Teresa face, so I call her Teresa. I’ve redressed her in most of the 2016 Lammily fashion Rocking London.
- Barbie Styling Head customization – doll bust, acrylic paint, skull beads, rubber bands, foam, velvet material, suede material, Barbie Collector club pin, sequin ribbon, earrings, antique pin, sequin fabric, veil from a 1987 Barbie wedding fashion hat. This styling head is about 8 inches tall and used the same size head as the 28” Best Fashion Friend dolls. They’re often hard to tell apart because often the only difference from year to year is the styling of the painted-on necklace, and they can come with 9 or 20 pieces in the box, or some other random number of accessories. I call this customization “Skull Witch” and she’s pretty heavy with all those beads.
- Hatter ♥ Elvis 17” doll customization – doll, fashion, extra petticoat, acrylic paint, hot glue, yarn, tulle, ribbon. I cut some bangs on this Extra Tall Ever After High Madeline Hatter doll, repainted her face, hands, and legs, made some saddle shoes out of hot glue, and dressed her in the 1997 Barbie ♥ Elvis ensemble which fits just nicely on her undersized insect-like body.
- Pillow Case 1 and 2 – fabric. This purple print fabric is probably cotton, was made and/or printed in Africa, and was given to me as a gift.
- Pillow Case 3 – fabric. This shell-print fabric is probably cotton and was part of a vintage sheet. There will be two Cat Plushie Energy Work Buddies in this same seashell blue fabric (Jeremy and Mauritius) when the cotton(?) miscellaneous group goes up on my Etsy shop (stay tuned). etsy.com/shop/cattheminion?section_id=49913095
- Pony Plush large size – poly fiberfill batting, faux fur (napped), faux fur (chevron fabric), cream felt fabric, brown velour-like fabric, brown chenille yarn, cardboard, hot glue, plastic canvas, upholstery foam, thread, marker, plastic eyes, ribbon, craft foam. I had a pretty good sized stuffed pony when I was five and I LOVED her. Her name was Strawberry, but my brother called her Skunk Face because she was black with a white blaze that was really just a big wide stripe down her head. My problem with Strawberry is that her legs eventually gave out and the dog ate one of her ears, so she had crappy replacement ear and was eternally sitting instead of standing. In order that my little cousin could have a sturdier horse for Christmas, I made this pony with trussed legs and some bracing in the middle/back area that included some upholstery foam, instead of only stuffing her with polyfill batting or sawdust or whatever. Probably around 2.5 feet tall. The fluff on the feet is uneven from front to back because I ran out of fluffy fur fabric and had to use some less fluffy stuff that I had due to not being able to get back to the store. I kept the pattern I created, but this is the only one of these big horses I’ve made.
